Shell signs 20-year LNG supply agreement with Canadian project

According to a press statement on the Ksi Lisims LNG website, the Anglo-Dutch energy corporation Shell has signed a 20-year agreement to deliver 2 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually from Ksi Lisims LNG project in British Columbia.

"Ksi Lisims LNG and Shell Eastern Trading Pte Ltd have inked a 20-year LNG purchase and sale agreement," said Ksi Lisims LNG Limited Partnership, a joint venture of the Nisga'a Tribe, Rockies LNG Limited Partnership, and Western LNG LLC. Shell would purchase 2 million tons of LNG annually from the Ksi Lisims LNG project as per the agreement, the statement reads.

This is the first LNG supply contract of the Ksi Lisims LNG project.

The Nisga'a people of British Columbia, Canada, will have their territory used for the liquefied natural gas project known as Ksi Lisims LNG. Ksi Lisims LNG will be the lowest emission project, powered by renewable hydroelectricity. By 2030, the project is expected to be completed and producing 12 million tons of LNG annually.
