Activision posted a statement from its CEO Bobby Kotick to staff members on its website on October 13. In the message, Kotick states that he will stay in his role until the end of the year. The Verge notes that it was already anticipated that Kotick would quit the game developer as soon as the Microsoft agreement was finalized.
Activision's projected transaction value, omitting net cash, is $75 billion. According to The Financial Times, it's the largest in the history of the video game industry.
