The corporation plans to nearly double its capital spending on DPEP over a period of 10 years, to around $60 billion. This will be accomplished, in part, by making investments in the improvement and extension of theme parks both domestically and overseas as well as increasing the capacity of cruise ships.

Disney asserted that it had the financial capacity to cover all of its obligations, including debt repayment, contract fulfillment, and future business development-related expenditures.

The company's shares were down 3.3 percent in trading on Tuesday.
