The deal is set to be finalized by the end of 2026 and has already been authorized by the European Commission.

After the completion of the transaction, Alba will acquire 100% of Aluminum Dunkerque. The French state-owned investment bank Bpifrance will invest €100 million in the firm, acquiring a stake of around 6%. A member from Bpifrance will additionally be part of the board of directors.

The consortium of partner banks for the Bahraini company will completely finance the transaction.

Situated close to the port city of Dunkerque, the smelter has an annual capacity of around 300,000 tons of aluminum.
