Trump says he is in favor of scrapping the U.S. state debt limit

The state’s debt ceiling should be eliminated entirely. “It will an avert economic catastrophe,” he posted on Truth Social. “I'm pleased to share that after all this time, I've discovered a point of agreement with Senator Elizabeth Warren.” 

Warren has mentioned before that she aligns with Trump on this topic. She believes that the US debt ceiling “ought to be eliminated permanently.” 

In the United States, it is Congress that raises the debt ceiling.
