Delegates from the Peace Council, formed at the request of US President Donald Trump, engaged in discussions with DP World, a company controlled by the Dubai government, regarding the rebuilding of the Gaza Strip, the Financial Times stated, referencing three sources knowledgeable about the matter.

The discussions encompassed the potential collaboration between DP World and the Peace Council to oversee the majority of logistics for humanitarian assistance and other supplies entering the ravaged Palestinian region.

Additional concepts talked about encompassed establishing a free trade area and building a new port by a UAE firm in Gaza or along the adjacent Egyptian shoreline.

Documents reviewed by the FT reveal that DP World will be responsible for establishing a "secure and traceable supply chain system" along with a "port-based economic ecosystem," integrated with additional light manufacturing sectors and "job-generating trading platforms."

A spokesperson for DP World mentioned to the publication that he had no knowledge of any such discussions. A spokesperson for the UAE Foreign Ministry did not reply to the FT's request for a statement.
