As the company explained, the pump may stop working in these cars, and then the engines will start to work intermittently, warning messages will appear on the dashboard, and the car may suddenly stop. Such stops create a risk of accident, especially if the car was moving at high speed at the time of the failure.
The recall spans cars of 2018-2019, including several Lexus models, for example, LS 500, LC 500, RC 350, RC 300, Toyota 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma and Tundra, as well as Toyota Avalon and Corolla 2019 release. Their owners were promised to fix the problems at the expense of the company.
