Japanese automaker Toyota has expanded recall of cars due to problems with the fuel pump to 1.8 million cars of Toyota and Lexus brands, the company said in its release.

At the beginning of the year, on January 13, the company announced recall of 696 thousand cars produced in 2018-2019 for some models of Lexus, Toyota 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra, Avalon and Corolla in the USA due to problems with the fuel pump. The company noted that it could fail, and this could lead to engine shutdown and increase the risk of an accident.

Now the number of recallable cars has been increased to 1.8 million units; the production of 2013-2017 was included in the total number, the release states.

Toyota Motor Corporation is the largest division of the Toyota Group and the leader in the Japanese car industry. The company was founded in 1937; headquartered in the city of Toyota, Aichi Prefecture.
