From January to June, 10.8 million foreign travelers visited Spain; the figure is down by 71.7% from the same period a year earlier. Most tourists came from the UK (2 million, minus 75.5%), France (1.4 million, minus 69.8%) and Germany (1.3 million, minus 74.7%).
The most popular regions of Spain in the first half of the year were the Canary Islands, Catalonia and Andalusia. Most often, tourists arrived without overnight stays, or stayed for a period of 4 to 7 nights.
In June, the number of foreign visitors to Spain fell by a record 97.7% to 205,000. Most often, the country was visited by travelers from France (65 thousand). Germany (33.7 thousand) and the Netherlands (12.3 thousand) following by a wide margin.
This month, tourists were most actively visiting Catalonia, Valencia and the Balearic Islands, most also opted for a trip without an overnight stay.
