Three months prior, the regulator predicted inflation for 2025 at 2.3 percent and for 2026 at 1.9 percent. The update is because of anticipated decreases in energy expenses and a more robust euro.

A 2 per cent inflation rate is anticipated for 2027. The ECB predicts that consumer prices, not including energy and food (core inflation), will increase by 2.4 percent this year, 1.9 percent next year, and 1.9 percent again in 2027.

The ECB kept its prediction for eurozone GDP growth in 2025 at 0.9 percent. The 2026 GDP prediction has been adjusted to 1.1 percent, down from the earlier estimate of 1.2 percent.

Projects an economic growth of 1.3 percent for 2027.

Keeping the forecast for 2025 shows a first quarter that performed better than anticipated along with a less optimistic outlook for the remainder of the year.
