H2 Notos seeks to manufacture green hydrogen using electrolysers fed with desalinated saltwater and powered by big onshore wind and solar projects.
The project's first goal is to produce 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen yearly in Southern Tunisia, with the potential to scale up to 1 million tonnes annually. The SouthH2 Corridor, a hydrogen pipeline project that will link North Africa to Italy, Austria, and Germany by 2030, will provide the project with access to the European market.
TE H2 and VERBUND will be leading the integrated project's conception, funding, building, and operation from the production of green power to green hydrogen. The transportation of the generated hydrogen to Central Europe will be arranged by VERBUND.
