The U.S. proposes to revive NATO-Russia Council

According to Bloomberg, citing sources, the U.S. has revised its proposal concerning the Ukrainian resolution to encompass a plan to rejuvenate the NATO-Russia Council's activities.

They stated that the U.S. suggested restarting discussions on security matters under the auspices of the Russia-NATO Council.

The agency notes that this type of interaction ceased following initiation of the conflict in Ukraine in 2022.

Washington's earlier proposals encompassed, notably, halting the conflict at the existing front line, the U.S. accepting the Crimean peninsula as part of Russia, alongside the removal of sanctions on Russia, the agency notes, while Ukraine would obtain security assurances and the ability to enhance its own military.
