He stated that overall oil output from January 1 to July 31, 2025 amounted to 56.9 million barrels, equating to 268 thousand bpd, representing a 5.2% increase compared to the same timeframe last year.

The minister acknowledged the recent input from France's TotalEnergies, which found four oil fields, as well as the Anglo-French Perenco, aiming for production of 200 thousand bpd by 2030.

Moreover, he stated that the CORAF oil refinery in Pointe-Noire meets only 65% of the existing demand, with the remaining 35% supplied through imports.

As per OPEC, Congo, a member of the organization, generated 263 thousand bpd in July under a quota of 277 thousand bpd, and 258 thousand bpd in June.

At the start of 2024, the U.S. Energy Information Administration assessed the nation's confirmed oil reserves at 1.8 billion barrels and gas reserves at 10 trillion cubic feet.
