Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof shared on social media that he was happy to see the path to reducing tensions starting and that the import tariffs are no longer an option.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also expressed support for the news, saying it's important to keep talking between allied nations.

Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin called Trump's statement "good news" and said all involved should work to ease tensions and focus on the economy.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb told CNN that the parties have achieved some de-escalation, but he added, "it's not over yet." He added that Europe could have faced three different situations because of the US plans to take control of Greenland.

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen also praised the fact that president Trump has decided not to take control of Greenland by force and has paused the trade war with Europe.

Earlier, Trump had announced he had given up his plan to introduce tariffs on several European countries in February after agreeing with the NATO Secretary General on a way to continue discussions about Greenland.
