Tesla increases electric vehicles deliveries by 50% in 2019

In the fourth quarter, American Tesla Inc increased deliveries to dealers to 112 thousand electric vehicles compared with 97 thousand in the previous three months and 104.891 thousand for the same period in 2018.

In the fourth quarter, American Tesla Inc increased deliveries to dealers to 112 thousand electric vehicles compared with 97 thousand in the previous three months and 104.891 thousand for the same period in 2018. 

According to a press release from the company, including in October-December, shipments of Model 3 amounted to 92.55 thousand, Model S and Model X – to 19.45 thousand. 

At the same time, the company produced 104.891 thousand electric vehicles (96.155 thousand in the third quarter), including 86.958 thousand Model 3, as well as 17.933 thousand Model S and Model X. 

In general, for 2019, Tesla delivered 367.5 thousand cars, which is approximately 50% higher than the previous year. Thus, the company met its forecast of 360-400 thousand. 

The press release also reads that Tesla has already produced about 1 thousand cars at the Gigafactory 3 plant in Shanghai. The construction of this enterprise started in January 2019; it was erected in less than ten months. As a result, the company started production ahead of schedule. 

Earlier it was reported that initially the plant was designed to produce about 250 thousand electric vehicles and battery packs per year. Over time, production capacity will be doubled. This is Tesla's first venture outside the United States.  

Over the past three months, the company's capitalization has grown by 84.6% and by 43.3% over the year. For comparison, the value of the Standard & Poor's 500 stock index rose 11.9% and 33.1% respectively during these periods.
