Roboflow Universe - Antoine Monestier
Unitree became the first manufacturer of humanoid robots to list publicly in mainland China. The firm secured 6.1 billion yuan ($904 million) during its IPO, pricing shares at 105.8 yuan ($15.7) each. Retail investors placed bids totaling over 7.07 trillion yuan ($1.05 trillion)—approximately equivalent to the IPO of memory chip producer CXMT.
At the end of trading on August 19, Unitree had a market cap of 342 billion yuan ($50.7 billion). According to Bloomberg, this surpasses the figures of AI firms such as MetaX and Moore Threads.
The swift increase in Unitree stock on its debut day reflects significant interest in China's embodied AI industry, points out Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Yang Ma. He anticipates that the capital generated by Unitree in the IPO will expedite the advancement and marketing of AI. Additionally, a successful IPO will yield positive valuations for the IPOs of other Chinese robotics firms, such as Ubtech, the analyst noted.
