After the testing is finalized, the manufacturer aims to receive certification for the A350F from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This will allow the company to start initial shipments, which are now planned for the latter part of 2027. Airbus has secured 115 orders for the A350F.
The latest aircraft is built on the A350 framework and was uniquely created for cargo missions. It can transport a load of as much as 111 tonnes across distances reaching 8,700 km. A standout characteristic that sets the A350F apart from its rivals is the largest main-deck cargo door in the industry. With a width of around 4.4 meters, it permits the loading of standard containers and pallets as well as oversized cargo.
Specialists consulted by Le Figaro observe that the European producer intends to leverage the A350F to seize 50% of the worldwide freighter market—a field that has been controlled since the 1970s by its American competitor, Boeing, with the 777F and 747F variants.
