Eurostat keeps unchanged estimate of eurozone GDP growth in Q4

Aggregate GDP of 19 eurozone countries, according to final estimates, in the fourth quarter rose by 4.6% year on year and by 0.3% - in quarterly terms, said the European statistical agency Eurostat.

The figures were in line with the forecast of analysts surveyed by Daily FX and preliminary estimates.

GDP in the European Union in the fourth quarter, also according to final estimates, rose by 4.8% in annual terms and by 0.4% - in quarterly terms.

Thus, the economy of Europe continued its recovery growth. In the third quarter, EU GDP grew 4.2% year on year and 2.2% quarter on quarter, while the 19 euro area countries grew 4% and 2.3%, respectively.

Cumulatively, eurozone and EU GDP grew 5.3% each in 2021. At the end of 2020, EU GDP fell by 5.9% and eurozone GDP by 6.4%.
