The EC press release indicates that this is a joint venture between Airbus SAS, which is controlled by Airbus SE ("Airbus") based in the Netherlands, and Société Air France, which is controlled by Air France-KLM S.A. ("Air France") based in France.
The European Commission determined that the agreement primarily involves merging the proposals from both companies regarding the maintenance of components for airlines operating A350 aircraft globally. The European Commission considers that this transaction will not lead to any issues regarding potential breaches of competition rules, as it is expected to have a minimal effect on competition within the markets where the companies are active.
The EC concluded that the joint venture will continue to face competition from various competitors, such as other component manufacturers and maintenance service providers for A350 aircraft, as well as airlines that repair components used in their own fleets.
