The ministry cautioned that “any entity or person that executes or assists in executing the US measures will be presumed to breach the ‘Law of the People's Republic of China on Sanctions against Foreign Countries’ and other laws and regulations, thus will face legal consequences.”

Last week, the US Commerce Department stated that utilizing Huawei's Ascend AI chips from China “anywhere globally contravenes US export regulations.”

China's Ministry of Commerce noted that the US actions exemplify 'a typical unilateral act of intimidation and protectionism' that significantly undermines the stability of the global semiconductor supply chain and denies other nations the opportunity to advance high-tech industries.

It stressed that it “calls on the United States to promptly rectify its erroneous practices, adhere to international economic and trade regulations, and honor other nations’ rights to scientific and technological progress.”
