The new development will be demonstrated within Tokyo Motor Show on October 28th.

The company's specialists have modeled how the "fins" on the side of the tires on the flow of air over the car in motion. It was found that when the wheel rotates, the otthrust help to reduce air resistance when located at the top of the wheel, as well as reduce the aerodynamic effects that tend to tear the vehicle from the road, when are in the lower portion of the wheel.

In 2012, the company has already announced on its development in the direction of the tire with the "fins". Then, Yokohama experts simulated a large number of transverse projections on the inner side of the tire and their influence on the aerodynamic characteristics of the car.
