During the summer, WBD revealed intentions to detach its worldwide TV network division (Discovery Global) from its streaming and movie production operations (Warner Bros.). On October 21, the company announced that it would keep evaluating this possibility. The division was scheduled to be finalized by the middle of 2026.
Furthermore, the company will investigate another separation strategy that includes merging Warner Bros. with a spinoff of Discovery Global for its shareholders.
WBD is exploring various strategic possibilities due to interest from multiple entities in purchasing both the complete company and Warner Bros. independently. The firm has not revealed which entities are participating.
It will consider the option of selling the whole business in one transaction, along with the two segments individually, or just one of them.
