Dutch officials are ready to halt the order that enabled the government to take control of Nexperia, a chip manufacturer owned by the Chinese company Wingtech Technology Co., according to Bloomberg, which is quoting unnamed sources.

This action could help ease tensions with Beijing, which has the potential to disturb the global supply of automotive parts.

The sources explain that the Netherlands is willing to take this step if China restarts the export of essential chips.

Previously, the Netherlands seized control of Nexperia, stating that it was necessary to ensure the availability of its chips during emergencies.

Nexperia plays a vital role in supplying components to the automotive sector. It continues its regular operations, but Dutch authorities have the authority to block or reverse management choices if they think such actions might harm the supply of components in Europe.

In response to the Dutch decision, Chinese authorities have imposed a ban on the export of certain components made by Nexperia in China.

Bloomberg sources indicate that if China resumes chip exports in the coming days, Amsterdam will lift its regulation on Nexperia as soon as next week.
