The ground staff strike at airports in Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne, and Stuttgart will continue for a little more than a day, from the morning of February 20 to the morning of February 21.
Michael Niggemann, director of human resources at Lufthansa, stated that the strike will be "an unfair experience for our guests and our colleagues." The business will run at a capacity utilization rate of roughly 20%.
The union is requesting a lump sum payment of €3,000 in addition to a wage raise of 12.5% for ground crew, or at least €500 per month. Lufthansa is offering a 10% rise over a 12-month period. The past week's negotiations with the corporation ended without a resolution.
