The facility aims to achieve its maximum output by 2027, at which point it can manufacture as many as 350,000 rounds of ammunition annually. The firm intends to manufacture rocket artillery systems at that location starting in 2026.

Construction of the plant began in early 2024, and it was intended to be operational by late spring or summer of that year, but delays occurred.

As reported by Bloomberg, Rheinmetall AG has finished building another significant facility in Weeze close to the Dutch border, where fuselage sections for F-35 fighter-bombers will be assembled.

On Monday, Rheinmetall AG revealed intentions to establish ammunition manufacturing plants in Bulgaria, in addition to a powder production facility.
