OPEC+ has excluded data from the International Energy Agency (IEA) from its calculations on the oil deal, replacing them with information from analytical companies Wood Mackenzie and Rystad Energy, according to a report by the alliance's technical committee.
"The technical committee has replaced, with immediate effect, the IEA with Wood Mackenzie and Rystad Energy as secondary sources of information (independent used in the OPEC+ deal calculations)," according to the report from Wednesday's technical committee meeting.
The IEA's information on the OPEC+ deal has repeatedly shown strong discrepancies with the data eventually provided by the alliance itself or individual parties to the deal.
