Nissan has suspended collecting orders for the new type X-Trail and the Sakura electric vehicle due to a lack of parts, according to the Yomiuri daily.

The publication reported that orders are no longer being accepted because of the huge demand for certain automobile brands as well as a shortage of parts, particularly semiconductors.

In June of 2022, the automaker started selling the Sakura car model, which it makes in collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors. Orders for 33,000 of these vehicles had been received by the end of October.

The car's mileage, affordable pricing and government subsidies are attracting buyers. Sales of the new X-Trail model started in July 2022.

This year, Japanese manufacturers have experienced a shortage of semiconductor supplies, which has occasionally required them to temporarily halt operations.
