The South Korean company Samsung has introduced a new model line of Galaxy smartphones. There were four more models presented together with the flagship model, one of which is bent in half, like a sheet of paper. Galaxy Fold will start selling on April 26, it risks becoming the most expensive mass-produced phone: the starting price is $ 1980.

This time, the smartphones were presented at two presentations, held simultaneously in London and San Francisco.

The main point of the program was Samsung Galaxy S10. This is the new flagship model of Samsung and a representative of the tenth generation of the company's phones. The size of the diagonal of its screen is 6.1 inches, like the iPhone XR. The phone charges through the USB Type C port, or via wireless charging.

The Galaxy S10 has three cameras on the back (12, 16, and 13 megapixels; a normal, wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lens) and one on the front. Battery capacity is 3500 mAh. The amount of space for storing files can reach terabytes (1024 gigabytes). This is not a breakthrough since back in 2018, the Chinese Smartisan R1 became the first phone with a terabyte of memory.

In addition to the flagship S10, the company introduced modified models. Most of the public was intrigued by the foldable phone Galaxy Fold.

The phone really looks fresh. The "book" can be read both on its front and when it’s open. The screen resolution is 1536 x 2152 pixels, the aspect ratio is 16:10. The retail price of the phone, as previously reported, will be from 1600 to 2000 dollars, depending on the specifications.

Galaxy S10 Plus, a model with a large screen, will obviously qualify for the same market segment as the large-screen iPhone XS, which came out last year.

Galaxy S10e will be the budget model of the flagship phone.

The largest manufacturers of smartphones, and Samsung among them, commenced this year with bad news. At first, Apple unexpectedly worsened sales forecast, and then Samsung surprised everyone with a grim warning that things were worse than expected and improvements should not be expected until spring.

It is believed that the situation can be explained by the trade war between the United States and China, which slows the growth of the Chinese economy.
