Macron had a telephone conversation with the United States President, Donald Trump, the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and the Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

He expressed hope that the ceasefire will be fully respected by all parties involved in the conflict across all affected areas, including Lebanon, and added that this is a crucial requirement for the ceasefire to be trustworthy and sustainable.

The French President mentioned that the decision to implement the ceasefire "was the best possible option."

He stated that the ceasefire "must create a foundation for full negotiations that can guarantee the security of the entire Middle East," and noted that any future agreement should take into account "concerns" about Iran's nuclear and missile programs, as well as its "policies and actions that are blocking the movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz."

Macron also mentioned that he talked to Aoun and the Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
