Henkel's net profit falls in the first half 2022

The attributable to shareholders net profit of Henkel AG, one of the top producers of household and industrial chemicals worldwide, decreased by 50% in yearly terms in the first half of the year, to €447 million.

Comparatively to January through June of previous year, adjusted net income per preferred share was €1.95, down from €2.4. Operating profit fell from €1.296 billion to €684 million, a 1.9-fold reduction. Henkel's sales increased at the same time by 10% to €10.913 billion. 8.9% of the growth was organic.

Sales increased by 13.8 percent to €5.642 billion in the second quarter, with 10.9 percent organic growth. Sales of repair, packaging, and other products in the Adhesive Technologies business increased by 18.5% to €2.836 billion, those of beauty care increased by 3.9% to €950 million, and those of laundry & home care increased by 11.3% to €1.802 billion.

Western Europe saw revenue growth of 3.8%, Eastern Europe - 14.2%, Africa and the Middle East - 4.8%, North America - 22.2%, Latin America - 30.7%, and Asia Pacific - 13.8%.
