During the last quarter, shipments increased by 2.3% compared to the previous year, hitting 336.3 million units.

"Although there was a crisis due to the shortage of memory chips, the market in the fourth quarter was driven by strong sales of premium devices, increased popularity of foldable smartphones, and growing consumer interest ahead of price hikes," stated IDC.

Nabila Popal, Senior Research Director at IDC, noted that despite a difficult year characterized by fluctuating import tariffs, supply chain issues, and ongoing economic challenges in certain areas, the global smartphone market showed significant resilience, finishing 2025 with a solid growth of 1.9%.
