Glassdoor collects and analyzes data provided by employees on working conditions in companies. Next, analysts form a rating from anonymous reviews of former and current employees of different companies. The rating takes into account working conditions, salary level, bonus programs, social package, team cohesion, management objectivity, etc. The list includes companies with at least 1 thousand employees.
Consulting leader Bain & Co. turned out to be the leader in the 2018 ranking in the United States. The company overtook firms such as Google or Facebook, the latter ranking first in the Glassdoor rankings in 2011–2013 and 2016. This year, Google was only in eighth place, and Facebook - in seventh place. The top ten American employers also included: manufacturer of software and video conferencing services Zoom Video Communications (second place), chain of fast food restaurants In-N-Out Burger (third place), manufacturer of software for construction projects Procore Technologies (fourth place), consulting company Boston Consulting Group (fifth place), LinkedIn professional social network (sixth place), fitness clothing and shoes manufacturer Lululemon (ninth place) and Southwest Airlines.
In the UK, Anglian Water, a water supply company, was at the top of the rankings. It bypassed employers for British citizens like Microsoft (11th place), Gartner (12th place) and Google (13th place). The best German company to work with was software maker SAP, which bypassed such companies as Infineon Technologies, Robert Bosch, Daimler and BMW (second, third, fourth and seventh places, respectively). In France, the best employer was the fashion house Hermes.
