Ford to show all-electric cargo van in 2022

American automaker Ford Motor Co. will present an electric version of the Transit cargo van by 2022, the company said in a press release.



The issue is planned in accordance with the previously announced plan of the company to spend $11.5 billion on the electrification of cars until 2022.

“Commercial vehicles are an important component of our electrification strategy,” Ford Motor Co-Chief Operating Officer James Farley said in the release.

It is noted that the artificial intelligence technologies that will be used in the all-electric Transit will help the company optimize its fleet efficiency and reduce waste. Driver assistance technologies will help increase driver confidence and avoid or reduce severity of collisions. The car will include automatic emergency braking, as well as pedestrian detection, collision warning, braking after a collision, a lane control system and automatic high-beam headlights.
