The forecast indicates that Apple's iPhone shipments will reach 243 million units worldwide this year, compared to Samsung's approximately 235 million units.

By the end of the year, Apple is expected to hold a 19.4% share of the global smartphone market, while Samsung's share is projected to be 18.7%.

The positive outlook for Apple is largely due to the strong performance of the iPhone 17 series, which was launched in September.

Counterpoint described the sales of this product line as "outstanding" during the holiday season.

According to Counterpoint, sales of the iPhone 17 series in the first four weeks after its release were 12% higher than those of the previous iPhone 16 series.

In China, a major market for Apple, sales of the iPhone 17 during the same period outperformed the previous line by 18%.
