Quartz Internet portal calculated that the creator of bitcoin, who hides under the name of Satoshi Nakamoto, has been ranked 44th in the list of the world's richest people Forbes with a fortune of $ 19.4 billion. The anonymous creator of crypto currency, according to some estimates, has 980 thousand bitcoins.

Yesterday the cost of Bitcoin reached $ 19.7 thousand, thus setting a new record. This allowed its creator to enter the top 50 of the world's richest people. The H&M chairman Stefan Persson (43rd), Steve Jobs's widow Laurene Powell (40th), and the co-founder of Microsoft Paul Allen (42nd) became neighbors to the rating of the anonymous billionaire. The very first lines of the list are occupied by giants of the IT industry, such as the creator of Microsoft Bill Gates and the founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos.

Even nine years after the creation of the crypto currency, the world still does not know who exactly is hiding under the pseudonym of Satoshi Nakamoto. Earlier, several investigations were conducted in an attempt to reveal his identity: in 2013, a blogger assumed that the creator of bitcoin is Nick Szabo, a well-known expert in cryptography, who was the author of the concept of Bit Gold ("digital gold" - the immediate predecessor of Bitcoin). Nick Szabo himself rejected this theory. In December 2015, another blogger said that the founder of the crypto currency was a scientist Craig Steven Wright, who confirmed this, but could not prove. Mr. Wright did not succeed in cryptographically signing the first data block created with the growth of the crypto currency, something that the real creator of bitcoins could do.

The loudest, perhaps, was Newsweek’s investigation: journalist Leah Goodman identified the creator of crypto currency in a California resident Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto. The author has cited several facts, indirectly confirming her theory. Immediately after the publication, Dorian's house was flooded by journalists who even chased him when he went to give an interview to the Associated Press. There, he rejected all the speculation about his involvement in the creation of Bitcoin. This, however, did not stop the Californian from getting a decent amount of donations in bitcoins for a trial with Newsweek, which, incidentally, never came.

Since the beginning of the year, the price of Bitcoin has risen by almost 20 times, provoking talks about a possible financial pyramid associated with the crypto currency.

At the present time, however, its rate has declined, and so did Satoshi Nakamoto’s capital. At the current rate, fortune of the creator of the crypto currency is $ 17.9 billion, and he takes 50th place in the Forbes list of billionaires.
