On Monday, February 24, the US Presidential Administration Donald Trump requested $ 2.5 billion from congress to fight against coronavirus, AP reports citing a statement from the White House budgetary office. These funds will be used to develop a vaccine, provide medical care and personal protective equipment.

Donald Trump’s administration is asking for $ 1.25 billion to directly fight the coronavirus. The remaining funds will be taken from other sources. For example, part of the money will be allocated from funds aimed at combating the Ebola virus. The agency notes that, according to the Democrats, this amount is not enough to fight the coronavirus.

Recall that cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection were first recorded in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019. Later, infected were found in other countries. According to the latest data, more than 2.6 thousand people died from the virus in China, more than 27 thousand people recovered, and more than 77 thousand became infected. The World Health Organization recognized the outbreak of coronavirus as an emergency of international scale and called for preparations for a possible pandemic.
