As per the channel, the museum resumed operations on October 22 at 9:00 a.m. local time, following its usual schedule. The Apollo Gallery, where the robbery took place on October 19, is still closed while an investigation is ongoing.

The museum was originally scheduled to partially welcome visitors on October 20, the day following the theft. Nonetheless, museum administration concluded that it was unfeasible to reopen it. Museum personnel guided visitors who had assembled in the Louvre courtyard since the morning of October 20 off the premises, and those arriving were told that the site was closed.

Unidentified individuals stole from the Louvre on the morning of October 19. Reports indicate that the robbery at the Apollo Gallery, home to the French Crown Jewels, lasted only seven minutes. According to Le Parisien newspaper, nine pieces from the jewelry collection of Napoleon and Empress Josephine were reportedly stolen, including a tiara, a necklace, and a brooch.
