Reuters: Saudi Arabia becomes leader among oil suppliers to China

According to Reuters, who cited statistics from Chinese customs, Saudi Arabia has reclaimed the top spot in oil shipments to China, which grew by 22% from July to 8.48 million tons in August and by 5% from year to year.

Russia now has the position of second in the ranking. The country’s oil exports increased to 8.34 million tons in August from 7.14 million tons a month earlier. The amount rose by 28% on an annual basis.

Iraq ranked third in terms of the quantity of oil supplied to China, with 4.32 million tons (a 26% decrease from the prior year). Angola came in fourth with 2.2 million tons of imports, a decrease of 33.8%, and Brazil came in fifth with 1.88 million tons of supplies annually, a decrease of 46.9%.

3.37 million tons of imports came from Malaysia, an increase of 92.7% from the previous year. While imports from the UAE grew 47.7% year over year to 3.8 million tons, imports from Oman decreased 16.2% to 2.75 million tons.
