Bucket Studio securities were selling at 3,450 Korean won at market close on Monday, 29.94 percent higher than the previous closing price. With the KOSPI 100 index down 3.4 percent on Monday, the price soared as the market sank.

Bucket Studio owns a share in Artist Company, a talent agency that represents Lee Jung-jae, who plays the lead in "The Squid Game." The show follows a group of highly indebted people who compete in survival games in order to earn a cash prize.

The first season of the show premiered in 2021 and quickly became Netflix's most popular series. Shortly after the series finished, Netflix revealed that it had been renewed for a second season.

Netflix released a 10-second teaser for the second season on June 12. The streaming service did not provide a specific launch date, according to Bloomberg. Hwang Dong-hyuk, the series' writer and director, revealed some specifics in a statement on the Netflix website.
