"PERN plans to construct four additional storage facilities at various locations in Poland by 2028. Extra AFP storage capacity in the PERN system will enhance operational planning and inventory management, boost supply stability, and strengthen the domestic fuel supply system’s resilience to demand fluctuations and logistical disruptions," the statement reads.

Building four AFP storage facilities is a component of PERN's extensive investment initiative aimed at enhancing its warehouse and logistics capabilities.

In March, the firm finalized a deal to construct a 33,000 cubic meter storage facility at its Koluszki location, and a contract for a comparable facility in Kawica is anticipated to be signed shortly. The planning of an additional gasoline storage facility with a capacity of 24,000 cubic meters in Koluszki is also being considered. Seven additional storage facilities with a combined capacity of almost 250,000 cubic meters are in different phases of design.

Saudi Aramco Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan mentioned that the Saudi state oil company is contemplating the expansion of its international oil storage system, as the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has underscored the significance of strategic reserves for maintaining steady energy supplies: "Aramco has storage facilities globally, especially in Asia. We are thoughtfully evaluating the expansion of our international oil storage capacity."
