The Israeli Foreign Ministry believes that the decision of governments of six European countries to join the settlement system with Iran INSTEX (Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges) can be used by the Iranian authorities to tighten repression within the country.

"Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden could not choose the worst time," the statement said.

In this regard, the Israeli Foreign Ministry pointed to "hundreds of innocent Iranians killed during the last round of protests."

"We ask these European countries - what signal are you sending to the Iranian people? Would it not be more efficient and ethical to identify officials of the regime responsible for the killing of innocent civilians?" - the Israeli Foreign Ministry asks questions.

At the same time, INSTEX founders - London, Paris and Berlin - issued a conscientious statement in which they welcomed the decision of these six countries to join as INSTEX shareholders.

On the eve, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden in a joint statement noted that they "attach great importance to the preservation and full implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program by all interested parties."
