Modi remarked at the Indian Mobile Congress, "Today, 1.3 billion Indians are receiving the gift of 5G. Our administration is striving toward the objective of Internet for all."

In the past, the Indian government sponsored the rollout of 4G networks, which, according to Modi, has "lowered the cost of data and initiated a data revolution."

By 2035, India is projected to earn $450 billion through the adoption of 5G technology.

Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Jio, stated in late August that the business had invested 2 trillion rupees ($25 million) in 5G networks and intended to roll out high-speed connections in significant cities around the nation in the following two months.

In the beginning, networks of this caliber will be introduced in a number of important cities, namely Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata.

The business intends to extend the reach of its 5G network to all of India by December 2023.
