Apple announced plans to reduce fees for developers with total annual revenue of less than $1 million on the App Store in the fall of 2020.

It was expected that the commission will be reduced in 2021, but developers have reported that the new rates began to apply in December.

In particular, the creators of the ImageFramer photo editing app for Mac spoke about the reduced commission.

Apple has lowered its rates for small companies and first-time developers amid growing interest in the App Store from US antitrust regulators.

It was preceded by a lawsuit against Apple by the maker of the Fortnite video game Epic Games, which filed an antitrust suit against Apple.
