The company’s press release states that the inaugural model manufactured at the facility will be a mid-size electric pickup truck with four doors. Production is set to start in 2027. The pickup truck will serve as a cheaper option compared to the well-received F-150 Lightning model.

Previously, the automaker declared a $3 billion investment for the establishment of a battery facility for electric vehicles in Michigan.

Altogether, these initiatives will generate or preserve approximately 4,000 jobs.
