According to the publication, Decart’s software streamlines the transition between various AI chips. This ability is gaining more significance as businesses aim to obtain enhanced computing power.

The agreement might be concluded shortly, as long as negotiations proceed smoothly and no other bidders appear, according to sources from the WSJ.

Data from PitchBook referenced by the publication indicates that Decart has secured more than $400 million in venture capital from backers such as Sequoia Capital, Benchmark, and Radical Ventures. In May, the company was assessed at almost $4 billion. According to the WSJ, the company was established in 2023 by three engineers from Israel: siblings Dean and Orian Leitersdorf along with Moshe Shalev. Decart is additionally working on the Lucy and Oasis models, capable of creating and simulating real-world 3D environments.

Amazon has created its own AI chip, Trainium3, to rival Nvidia, which remains a leader in the market for graphics processing units (GPUs)—the specialized chips driving the AI boom, the article mentions. As reported by the WSJ, Decart received early access to the chip from Amazon Web Services in 2025. Decart’s co-founder and CEO Dean Leitersdorf mentioned then that Trainium3 allowed his company to make significant progress.

In early September, it was announced that Anthropic chose not to purchase Decart; Bloomberg reported this based on sources aware of the talks. The agency stated that the AI startup might have reached a valuation of $6 billion in the agreement.
