As per the TV channel's source, the ministry views the exports as strategically significant for China.

He mentioned that in certain instances, the Ministry of Trade “halted export licenses or added extra licensing conditions while the case is being assessed”.

Consequently, the Trump administration has insisted that American firms providing software for semiconductor development cease service sales in China.

As per various newspaper reports, the US Department of Commerce has instructed the electronic design automation companies, such as Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens EDA, to halt the provision of technology to China.

According to sources, the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security issued the directive to the companies through letters, but it is uncertain if all companies received them.
