European nations now import diesel fuel from Saudi Arabia, India, China, and South Korea; the Russian share dropped to 2% in February 2023.

According to the US Department of Energy, imports of diesel from the nations on the list have increased to the following levels: up to 45,000 barrels per day (bpd) from South Korea; up to 110,000 bpd from India; up to 119,000 bpd from China; and up to 202,000 bpd from Saudi Arabia.

There was an increase in US diesel imports to North West Europe from October 2022 to February 2023, amounting to 107,000 bpd.

Refinitiv reports that Russia sent at least 190,000 tonnes of diesel to Saudi ports in February 2023. Reuters spoke with traders who said that after refinement, Russian diesel could be exported again to other nations.
