Cargo Dragon by SpaceX, the U.S., launched into orbit on Sunday, successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS), the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said.

Cargo Dragon docked to the American segment of the station, the Harmony module. Before that, a ship approaching the ISS was captured with the help of the 17-meter Canadarm-2 manipulator arm, which was controlled by Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano.

The subsequent connection of the ship with the remote manipulator to the ISS and the process of attaching it to the American segment of the station — the Harmony module — was carried out on commands from the NASA Mission Control Center in Houston.

Cargo Dragon delivered to the ISS about 2.5 tons of food, as well as equipment and materials for 38 scientific experiments by the station’s crew.
