U.S. President Donald Trump believes that nations that did not help Washington during the Iran crisis and the shipping issues in the Strait of Hormuz should compensate the United States.

"Petroleum moves through the Strait of Hormuz. Nations worldwide that do not assist us will be required to compensate the U.S. for its expenses—and they definitely will—when this misleading crisis concludes," he posted on Truth Social.

"We offer much more to others than to ourselves, and this has been the case for generations," he stated.

Trump had earlier indicated that he would determine if he would consent to restart talks with Tehran. He stated that, in general, he does not object to the concept of a diplomatic resolution to the matter.
