According to one source, Cognition was not considering an acquisition offer. The sources also said that discussions are underway regarding cooperation, including the possibility of providing SpaceX with computing power.

SpaceX is seeking to strengthen its position in the race for leadership in artificial intelligence, the publication notes. According to Bloomberg sources, SpaceX's interest in Cognition was driven not only by the company's technology but also by its business success.

This could potentially be the company's second major acquisition in recent months, Bloomberg reports. Musk's company recently acquired the AI software startup Cursor for $60 billion.

SpaceX and Cognition did not respond to requests for comment. Cognition later responded to Bloomberg's reporting. CEO Scott Wu stated that the company is not for sale and has not engaged in such discussions. Cognition, founded in 2023, is the flagship product, Devin, an AI agent designed to automate the programming process for engineers.
